Copies of letters written to R.C. Ballard Thruston, August - November, 1888, concerning certified deeds, travel conditions in Harlan County (Ky.), and U.S. presidential election results in Lee County (Va.). Also includes letters and a proxy concerning the 1951 sale of Ballard and Ballard Mills to C.A. Pillsbury; letters and receipts from the First Unitarian Church regarding his fund raising work; letters of appreciation from various organizations to which he contributed; and also copies of his will and death certificate. His papers also include a 1 December 1964 letter from Richard Nixon to Charles Breaux discussing the 1964 election results.
